OUR MISSION
The
Mothers Institute
Mission Statement:
The Mothers Institute is a non-profit
educational and networking organization which promotes and supports the
principles of Radical Responsible Mothering. As such, the Institute
encourages the fostering of a child's sense of individual freedom and
personal responsibility as well as the teaching and implementation of
such time honored traditions as reason, logic, creativity, civility,
discourse, debate and dissent.
The Mothers Institute Advocates:
1) Stay-at-Home
Mothering
2) Homeschooling
3) Civics in the Classroom
4) An Effective Networking System for Mothers
5) Freedom of Choice in Health, Hearth, and Happiness
How does
The Mothers Institute plan to advocate for stay-at-home mothering and
homeschooling families?
The
Mothers Institute believes that offering our children the opportunity to
enjoy their childhood in an open-minded, creative and loving home
environment is not only beneficial to the child, but to the family and
society as well.
Realizing
not every family's situation lends itself to a stay-at-home mothering and
homeschooling experience, The Mothers Institute offers support to those
families who choose such an experience as well as making its resources
available to those mothers aspiring to this endeavor.
Funding
scholarships for stay-at-home and homeschooling mothers and their families
is one goal of The Mothers Institute. In addition, growing a network
for mothers to share their personal experiences, time, tools, and talents
with others mothers interested in this practice will open doors for mothers
wishing to eventually do the same.
The
Mothers Institute also enjoys a healthy dialogue with dedicated mothers
whose children are enrolled in public and private schools - advocating for
Civics to be taught in the classroom, as well as encouraging free speech and
independent thinking in a school setting.
The
Mothers Institute Promotes:
1) The 3 "R"s:
Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic
2) The three "C"s: Civility, Creativity, and Community
3) The three "D"s: Discourse, Debate, and Dissent
